15 Jun Papro Wine Cellars and Consulting Weighs in on New Wine Museum in Bordeaux, France
Toronto, Canada, June 15, 2016 – Papro Wine Cellars and Consulting (www.PaproWineCellars.ca), an award-winning company specializing in wine cellar consultation and design, is weighing in on the opening of a new wine museum in Bordeaux, France.
Already considered the capital of wine culture in the world, Bordeaux has taken a step to solidify that claim by creating a $90-million wine museum. Dubbed Cite du Vin, it will showcase the history of wine and its influence on the world. “Bordeaux is certainly a fitting place for such an idea,” says Steve Papadimitriou, founder of Papro Wine Cellars and Consulting. “The region is already famous for wine production and this will only add to the intrigue. It’s exciting for wine connoisseurs from all over the world.”
Cite du Vine opened last week and has already gained heavy attention on social media. The structure contains an eight-floor bar that offers views of the entire city along with other surrounding vineyards. It also holds a 250-seat auditorium and will feature a different wine region each summer to showcase its own set of vintages.
“Some things just make sense and this is one of those things,” Papadimitriou continues. “This is a way for visitors to that region to experience Bordeaux wine in an entirely different manner. Now people don’t just have to taste the wine and be satisfied; they can actually get a taste of the culture behind it.”
There will be 14,000 bottles held in the Cite du Vin’s cellar, collected from 80 different cities. The mayor of Bordeaux, Alain Juppe, expects the attraction to draw approximately 450,000 visitors to the region each year.
